Welcome to Sculpture in the Landscape

About Us

Imagine

A breathtaking outdoor space crafted with extraordinary art and landscape design. Sculpture in the Landscape works with corporate clients, individuals and artists to create the ideal landscape. We produce unique, artistic and environmental legacies. The ideas start here!

PERSONAL ENRICHMENT, PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT

Sculpture in the Landscape offers much more than the simple combination of striking art placed perfectly within a stunning landscape design.

Sculpture in the Landscape lifts the spirits, energizes the senses, and changes lives.

Sculpture in the Landscape

We are a total service, outdoor art consulting and resource company designed to work with artists, designers, owners, and agencies. We believe more companies, developers, institutions, municipalities and individuals would acquire outdoor art if the process was simple, all inclusive, and a fundamental confidence in the outcome could be achieved.

Our Goal

Sculpture in the Landscape endeavors to increase both the quality and the quantity of outdoor art and to ensure that it flourishes in just the right space. In doing so, Sculpture in the Landscape enhances the art, its surroundings and the lives of all who experience each Sculpture in the Landscape.

About the owner

Jim Davis

Jim Davis is founder and president of Sculpture in the Landscape, a NC based firm dedicated to simplifying the process of finding and procuring outdoor art while helping increase both the quality and quantity of the total outdoor art experience.  Since 2008, Jim has enjoyed incorporating his skills as a landscape architect with outdoor art by working closely with artists, designers, developers, art councils, municipalities, and corporations as a consultant and in identifying and placing outdoor art.

Jim is a longtime volunteer and past Board Member of Cary Visual Art, Inc. a non-profit organization in Cary, NC which has placed over 50 permanent pieces of sculpture worth in excess of one million dollars.  Jim was instrumental in forming CVA’s Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit and has served as chair since 2006. Through this nationally known venue, Jim has worked with artists from 17 states and helped place over 100 pieces of sculpture to their best advantage throughout downtown Cary for this annual event.

Through Sculpture in the Landscape, Jim has placed work in Virginia as well as North Carolina.   Most recently, Jim arranged and directed a commissioned roundabout sculpture in Knightdale, NC.  He has worked with the City of Goldsboro, NC since 2015 in placing sculpture in their Downtown Streetscape Project and helped initiate Fayetteville’s outdoor sculpture exhibit, Work in Progress in 2016.

Jim served as juror for the 2016-2017 City of North Charleston National Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition.

With a degree in Environmental Design, Jim has over 45 years of experience in outdoor aesthetics.
